January 29 vs Long Sault C1

Braves visit the Selects in Long Sault.  Johnny McAdams from the Braves scores first in the first period.  What seems to now be a pattern, McAdams scores his second goal in the second assisted by Alex Leroux.  Seconds later the Selects score their first goal.  The second period ends in a 2 -2 tie when the Selects score with 24 seconds left in the period.  The home team scores two more times in the third period before Laura Grady scores for the Braves at 3:48.  In less than one minute the Selects score 3 times and the Braves record another goal from Alex Leroux.  The game ends 7 - 4 for the Selects.

January 25 vs CharLan C2

NGS Braves welcome CharLan Rebels on home ice in Maxville.  This is the team's second game in as many nights.  Johnny McAdams scores first at 8:31 in the first period.  McAdams scores his second of the night at 4:35 in the second period.  The Leroux's are the scoring machines in the third perioud with Alex scoring at 10:04 and Gracie scoring at 9:24.  Abby earns another shut out with the score ending 4 to 0.  Hard worker of the game is awarded to Gracie Leroux!

January 24 vs Alexandria C1

Up against a high scoring team, the game plan is to play defensively.  In Abby's absence, Gracie Leroux steps forward as our goalie.  Only two goals get past Gracie in the first period.  There are no goals scored in the second period thanks to the excellence defense played by all the Braves.  The Glens score once more in the third to end the game 3 to 0.  Congratulations to the entire NGS Braves team for a very well played game!  Some times the score does not reflect the effort and possibilities!  Hats off to Gracie for a job well done!

January 21 vs Long Sault C2

In the first period Johnny McAdams scores the first goal of the game at 5:31.  At 8:19 McAdams scores his second of the game assisted by  Alex Leroux.  The Selects come back to score their first goal in the second period at 3:43.  The Braves keep the lead 2-1 with just over two minutes to play in the third period the Selects score their second goal ending the game with a 2-2 tie.  Hard worker of the game is awarded to Lucas Martel!

January 14 vs CharLan C2

Despite no win recorded in 2012, the Braves come out of the change room ready to challenge the Rebels chanting their cheer.  Alex Leroux scores first for the Braves.  Leroux scores his second goal in the second.  In the third the Rebels score to make the score 2 -1.  Alex almost gets a hat trick but he was cut short as the crowd hears the puck bounce off the goal post.  The Braves secuity goal comes from Johnny McAdams assisted by Alex Leroux.  Cole Watkins is named the hard worker of the game!

January 10 vs Alexandria C2

Anxiously awaiting our first win in 2012 we enter the home of the Glens.  The home team scores first and takes the lead 2 - 0 after the first period.  The Glens continue scoring in the second and third period.  The Braves could not get the puck pass The Glens goalie Dylan Lauzon.  Final score is 5 - 0.  Hard worker of the game is Jeremy Sabourin!

January 7 vs Long Sault C2

First game in the new year started out as a close one with the first period ending in a tie 2 - 2.  Alex Leroux and Johnny McAdams both scoring each a goal.  The Selects score 5 more unanswered goals.  Three of which were scored in the second period and the other two scored in the third period.  Devon (Devo) Elliott is named hard worker of the game!

December 29 - Smiths Falls Tournament - Braves Win Silver

NGS Braves played Smiths Falls Bears in their first game.  Braves take the lead after the first period 2 -1.  Devon Elliot and Jessica Green scoring with Lucas Martel recording an assist.  The Bears come back in the second period to tie it all up at 2.  In the third period the Bears take the lead but with just over 3 minutes remaining Laura Grady scores with an assist from Johnny McAdams to end the game in a tie 3-3.  Hard worker of the game is awarded to Gracie Leroux!

In the second game the Braves challenge Nepean Avalanche.  First period is scoreless.  Minutes in the second period Nepean score first.  This is the only goal recoreded by the Avalanches.  Braves win the game 8 -1.  Alex Leroux scored 4 goals, Johnny McAdams scored once and assisted on 3, Laura Grady, Jessica Green and Cole Watkins each score a goal, while Lucas Martel and Jeremy Sabourin each recording an assist.  Hard worker of the game is Johnny McAdams!

NGS Brave Novice C2 finish first overall and play off against Kemptville for gold.  Gracie Leroux scores the only goal in the first period thanks to the excellent performance by  Abby Hardy in the net.  Unfortunately this is the only goal the Braves could record but not from lack of effort.  Alex Leroux had his first chance at a penalty shot but could not get it passed Kemptville's goalie.  Final score was 4 -1 for Kemptville.  Braves take home the silver medal.  Supporters are vey proud of the team.  Hard worker of the game,  without a doubt, is awarded to Abby Hardy!

December 17 vs Alexandria Glens C2

It didn't take long for the Glens to take the lead in the game and they never looked back.  Dylan Lauzon did not allow any goals from the Braves and it was not from lack of trying.  Final score was 6 - 0 for the Glens.  Hard worker of the game is Gracie Leroux!

December 11 vs NGS Braves C2

On December 11 the C1 Braves hosted the C2 NGS Braves in Maxville. The first two games, both nail-biters, were split between the teams and it was the C2 Braves who took home the two points in the latest match. Alex Leroux sealed the win for his team with an empty-netter with 24.9 seconds remaining. The goal came 9 seconds after Breigh Jackson scored for the C1 Braves to cut the C2 Braves’ lead to 2-1. Leroux ended up with the game-winner with his first of the game early in the third period. Laura Grady opened the scoring for the winners while Gracie Leroux and Johnny McAdams had assists. Abby Hardy earned the victory in between the pipes. Johnny McAdams is named hard worker of the game!

December 10 vs South Stormont

First period is scoreless thanks to Abby's stellar performance saving a breakaway .  Johnny starts the scoring with both the first and second goals.  The second goal assisted by Jessica's rebound.  Laura adds to the lead with a third goal assisted by Kiera's good digging and passing.  While short handed, the growd goes wild when Laura hits the goal post.  Alex takes a pass from Johnny to score the 4th goal.  South Stormont scores three goals in the third.  Abby Hardy is named hard worker of the game!
