2004 NGS Minor Hockey Raffle... huge success!
On
April 17th 2004 at our Annual Banquet at the Maxville Arena, the
NGS Fundraising Committee kicked off its raffle for a 2004 Yamaha
Bruin 4-wheeler. For six months many of our hockey parents sold
tickets to friends, family and neighbours. For six months volunteers
sat outside of local businesses and at county fairs surviving thunder
storms, scorching heat, frosty winds, hurricane conditions and occasionally
beautiful summer days. Everyone showed off the machine to passers
by and encouraged everyone and anyone to support minor hockey and
purchase a ticket.
Everyone's hard work and support paid off. On September 30th at
8:00 p.m. at the Berwick Hall, Stormont Councilors Lianne Hanna
and Regie Burd were present to draw the winning tickets.
After tallying up all the expenses and counting all the tickets
sold NGS is happy to announce that this fundraiser netted us
almost $8,000.00.
The lucky winners are as follows:
1st Prize 4-wheeler - Randy Richmire, Iroquois
2nd Prize $350.00 - Elvis Tyo, Morrisburg
3rd Prize $250.00 - Floyd Pelky, Cornwall
Our grand prizewinner, Mr. Richmire chose to take a $4,000 cash
equivalent over the 4-wheeler. We hope he has fun with it and thank
him and everyone else who gave us their support. A special thank
you to Ron's Service Shop, Moose Creek, for providing the
machine at cost, Shane Signs, Crysler, for their assistance
in advertising and promotion and to all our parents and volunteers
without whom none of this would have been feasible or fun.
